The whole Student Council met with the staff of the LC on Wednesday to discuss with them the proposed printing costs levied on staff and students of the college.
We proposed that the charges be postponed until September, and the new academic year, although that turned out not to be a viable idea, whereas we were able to agree on the starting balance for students; £7 per term, that accumulates when not used.
We feel that this is a big victory for students, as this will allow each student to print, on average, 350 black and white pages per term, and if one is a member of a 'print heavy' subject, such as Media or Art, they will also receive a bonus to their balance, in order to allow them to print more freely for their subjects.
